Thailand aims to be a leading AI market in Asia, but turning investment announcements into reality will depend on closing a significant talent gap.

This ambition places Thailand at the forefront of a regional push into advanced technology. However, the report also highlights a major constraint: a significant shortage of skilled AI talent. This situation perfectly illustrates a core theme of regional development: the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution.
Ambition and Capital
Thailand's ambition in the AI sector is clear. The government and private sector are aligning to channel significant capital towards AI adoption and innovation. This follows a pattern seen across ASEAN, where governments are eager to climb the value chain by embracing digitalization and automation.
